Did you notice any micra-forum decals on the cars? In your photo of the #23 press car I couldn't help but notice the non stock red hoses hanging out and at first I thought ok non collapsible rad hoses with the spring in them... common in race cars so the water pump doesn't collapse the rad hose at high revs but upon closer inspection I think we are looking at brake cooling ducting straight from where the fog lights are on the SR. What do you think? It may be from somewhere else up front but that is definitely ducting in fact if you look on the pic on page three of this thread of the brake caliper and rotor you can see the red hose going to the back of the calipers.

Yup, those red hoses are brake cooling ducts indeed! I did confirm that with one of the mecanics.

Brakes are all stock, except for the front pads. They need to replace them after each 30 minutes race, as they all get warped even if they are metallic racing pads. You can imagine how stock pads would look like...

And no, no forum stickers on site, but I saw no less than 10 civilian Micras in the parking lot!

So apparently i should stock higher quality pads... In my glove box your saying.. Lol
Thats also probably cus the rear drum " scoff " dont do jack all.. Slam on you brakes in neutral ... And feel your rear end dance. Brakes are usually 60:40 bais .. This is more like 85:15 the equalent of badly worn pads on old rotors with siezed glide/guide pins ... Ask me how i know... Bwahahahaa

Micra deffinitly need all wheel disc, bais control wouldnt hurt so you could dial the cars braking in just right. With the natural understeer and heavier wear on the front tires I would transfer as much braking as i could get away with to the rears to compensate. Make it squat level. Not heave forward and nose dive.

+1 for rear disc brakes! You know that some people in the US have converted their first generation Versa to rear disc brakes, using Sentra parts : http://www.nissanversaforums.com/bra....html#post6608 So probably this mod will be possible on the Micra.

Ok so back to the meet up it looks like us Peterborourgh folks are gonna roll out of town on the Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon. We of course will be taking the hwy. #7 route to Ottawa. Anyone from the GTA and beyond who would like to roll with us should meet at the Esso station/mac's/doughnut shop on hwy. 7 at the north end of the 115 just after the merge. We will then stop at Marmora at around 1:50 and meet up with "Polar 1" and anyone else from the Quinte region who wants to go with us. Other possible meeting stops could include Madoc, Sharbot lake, Perth, Kanata ect. depending on who wants to roll there with us and where you are.

Another teaser of the race action!!

It would be really great to have all us micras roll into Tremblant together... even though we will all have different accommodations.

    One month to go!

One month from right now I will be in my room in Tremblant sipping inexpensive and very accessable recovery beverages while thinking about the race day in the morning!

It looks like this is Olivier Bédards championship to lose. By my estimation Mr.T. has to win both races and Mr.Bédard only has to get forth in both races. This young man is a very talented and patient driver who is consistently quick and rarely makes mistakes.IMO Bédard is going to be the inaugural micra cup champion. Check him out at http://www.facebook.com/olivierbedard96/timeline he is a very worthy champion!
