Mountain Micra

I am going to use my Micra to commute to work at a Ski Resort in British Columbia. It will be traveling from sea level to 1100 above sea level and back again 4 days a week. I will let you know how it works out. So far, my Micra seems to work quite well. I think it needs a 6th gear as our highway speed limit is 120 Km/h and it revs about 3600 to make that - fuel economy suffers greatly. It's a shame that there are no in dash storage areas. Little cars always need them. Would have been nice for a 12v power outlet on the dash. The one located between the front seats is nice but a long way for a cord to reach from a GPS unit mounted on the windshield.

Would that be the Sea to Sky 4 days a week? I haven't been on that highway since before they rebuilt it for the Olympics.

The low 5th gear / lack of 6th is one of the most common complaints about the car from both owners and reviewers. I wonder what are the odds Nissan would do something about it. I doubt that we (small Canadian market) have enough economic clout to warrant any engineering changes & recertification (NRCAN).

Hi, that would be a lovely highway to commute into the mountains on, but sadly no, I will be commuting up Strathcona Parkway on Vancouver Island.

I had the same thought: nice music.

Nice that dawn breaks during the drive. Dark at the bottom, sunshine at the top.

Also, I chuckled at the 450 km/h comment.
