all south american hr16 4 injector engine (fitted on march versa sedan and tiida sedan) end with H, at least never saw one of those ending with J, tonigh will have a 2013 engine number knock free (from chile)
I thought 8 injector engine were ending with J, but if anonymus new engine ends with H is a wiered thing.
Also on chile H engines are knock free and old anonymus engine was J and knocking, very weired thing.
Bottom end is the same for both engines, the block, internals etc are the same.
Here only note comes with 8 injectors

    Good to know.
    I draw 2 conclusions from this;
    1. "H" blocks are cheaper ( as nissan used an "H" instead of "J" )
    2. If your looking at micras and want to know if the engines been swapped lool for the "h"

How a "J" block got the same problem is weird. Robm whats up with yours?

I really couldn't tell ya as i have no idea where to look on the engine for this number and my old faulty engine is long gone as the swap was done almost a year ago already. If its easily accessible without having to crawl around on the ground to see, tell me where i should be looking and i can let ya know later tonight what my replacements number is.

I dont think that is right IMPUL.
On chile all H blocks at least by now are knock free, there are at least 50 people from chile with those blocks from 2012 to 2015.
Anonymus knocking engine was a J and new engine which is knock free is H.
In my opinion they know which engines are using the deffective components (not by the engine number but with the defective internal part serial number at the moment of the assembly) according to document probanly are rod cap and/bearings and/or rod.
Also a very strange thing is that allways problem is cylinder 2, maybe a very keen on person on mechanics can tell us if when they made the engine they have rod caps or bearing assigned to each cylinder or not, in my opinion bearings or caps are the same for four cylinders.
Also the more strange thing is that at least 2 people, 1 in usa with 8 injector engine and another in mexico with 4 injector is that after 15-30k km their engines began to knock like ours.

On the front, viewable from above, to the right of the oil filter.
Production date is on the information / complience plate on the "B" pillar between front and rear, on drivers side at the bottom.

Usually all bearings are the same. Some are location specific.

What makes cyl #2 different. Coolant.
Right beside #2 is the cold coolant enterance.
Which on a side note. Do we even have a water pump? Cause if we do thats an odd one.

And the block heater... Heats the hot side of the coolant. Where the thermostat is.

So wrappage could be the culperit. Now these engines are under torsion during milling, then the torquing of the head straightens the block. Wonder if that affects it?

Anyways, oil and coolant both seem to perfom actions at or about cyl#2
Maybe all those galleries and oficies affect the expansion and contraction?
