    automatic transmission trouble

I went to the dealer today with my 2016 Micra, 87,000km because the transmission was making a noise.

The dealer told me that the main shaft bearing was broken.

The input shaft bearing cannot be changed.

The transmission needs to be changed for a new one.

    Price $4,010.55 + taxes and installation $2,000

    I find this incredible.

    Did you have this problem?

wow, odd, i probably would try and get a used one installed, i never heard of anyone having ANY automatic problems. its hardly worth putting 6k into a 13k? car. but the cars worth zero now really. i would probably try changing the fluid.....its not that easy ive heard. but it may be worth a shot for 100 dollars of fluid. or just live with the noise? for the bearings to "wear" either no fluid or dirty fluid.....does it leak fluid ? did you change the fluid ?

    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!
