The GuppySo as per the last post my 2015 ALSO had running rust streaks from the camera. We dismantled the hatch today and pulled out the camera, and lo and behold it's a REALLY bad part. There's a metal bracket on the camera (most likely low grade steel) that is not painted properly, and between that, the poor camera affixing to the car (seeing light through between housing and car), salt, and water, it's rusted to ****. This is probably the issue on most cars that have this problem, and isn't too bad to pull apart. My dad and I are gonna try Napa to see if they have a fully plastic alternative, if not then a new part from Nissan and I will update with the price later on, or I may design and 3D print one to fit. Unsure how to add photos with the new site update, so I'll try later once I'm home from work.
It's definitely not pretty, and I would check yours asap. Were uploading a how to dismantle the hatch video on YouTube later.
Another disappointed customer here as Nissan refuses to cover the cost. Love the Micra but Nissan Canada is driving me away from buying another I think.
