I think that TTAC writer is based in Toronto.
I asked Nissan's Micra marketing guy if any U.S. outlets were going to be there and he also specifically mentioned Autoblog, which makes sense since they're one of the biggest (if not the biggest) blog/review sites.

That's silly nonsense - typical gearhead reviewer comment. Was he driving in the same Montreal I drove in, where I kept up with traffic without breaking a sweat? (I probably never revved past 3k RPM).The 1.6L engine requires you to keep your foot pinned to the floor for any real acceleration
I agreed with that. Montreal does have some nasty roads and the Micra remained composed.Most promising is the chassis, which is shockingly adept at soaking up bumps on Quebec’s notoriously harsh roads.
