MicraEDIT: hey Ant Ruby, I just checked my car re:hood release bracket, and can confirm yours is definitely bent. The whole bracket can easily be replaced (2 bolts) or just bent straight by hand. The little tabs bend very easily. So, a warning to others... don't pull real hard on the hood or gas door release levers.
