Haha. Yeah I know what a big rig is. I just don't know what kind of batteries they use. Lead acid batteries usually come in 3 different flavors:
1) starting - These are for starting engines. They give tons of power all at once, but don't handle deep cycling (draining them low) at all and die quickly if you do.
2) deep cycle - These are for marine applications, fork lifts and floor scrubbers or any other application where you use the battery and drain it down. They can't provide as much power in one go though.
3) hybrid / dual purpose - These are a combination of the two above styles that give you more initial oomph (starting), but can handle being drained without dying too fast (deep cycle).
In any case, mine are deep cycle batteries.
I was about to say, tractors ("big rig") use batteries geared for cranking (starting). Takes a lot of juice to roll a 14L diesel engine.
