^ Yup! I actually laughed the first time I heard that noise and made a point of demonstrating it to people.
Sounds transmitted in the roof are far more pronounced in the Mitsu Mirage - several auto journalists even commented on these exact scenarios: car wash, rain & flipping up the visors.
FYI, the funky design on the Micra's roof is meant to minimize the problem by stiffening the panel:
Of course they could have added an insulation layer/spray coating, but that adds weight & cost. Money money money!
