Australians to finally get K13 facelifted Micra
Australians tend to like small cars, as Canadians do.
But they've been denied the updated Micra for quite a while, and have just found out they'll get it sometime in 2015, 18 months behind schedule.
Some notable tidbits about the Aussie K13 situation:
- They call it the "K13 Micra Series II" to reflect the facelift
- It's made in an Indian factory
- The year and a half-long delay in getting the facelifted version is "because of a backlog of stock of the current fourth-generation model introduced in 2010"
- Why such a backlog?
So far this year, Micra sales are down 47 per cent, to 1959 units, an average of about 200 units a month in a market segment down 27.4 per cent.
Only two years ago, Micra was averaging about 1000 units a month, peaking at 1444 in March 2012.
Australian Micras feature the normally aspirated 1.2L triple, not our fire-breathing 1.6L four cyl.

They'll just be getting used to the facelifted version and the next generation K14 Micra will be out!
