With regards to the convenience package audio system:
2. It'd be great if the audio volume could be normalized across the different sources, so I'm not blasted when I switch from USB to FM radio.

Im not sure what one the convienince package is... But the base radio, if you press the button on the right side and twist it to AUX Volume +3, press the button again and adust it down to zero, it shuts the pre-amp off.
