Anyone compare a new Micra S base to a new 2017 Accent 5 door L Manual base?
Just wondering because for a while now Hyundai has the base Accent for under 10 grand.

Yeah, I saw that $9357 Hyundai offer just last week in this article:
Top 10 least expensive cars in Canada for 2017
http://driving.ca/hyundai/accent/auto-news/news/top-10-least-expensive-cars-in-canada-for-2017
Note it's is a limited offer through rebates, not a low MSRP. And it only applies to in-stock cars...
...which are probably relatively difficult to find, and probably not in the colour you would want.for remaining new in-stock 2017 Accent L manual five-door models
I've never driven an Accent.

I drove a '14 manual (not the L though) one great thing about it is the 6-speed. Highway cruising is a joy.
in stock means this colour:

6 speed!
I wonder: did they actually add a gear, or did they just revise the ratios so the new 6th is the same as the old 5th, with no benefit to lowering top gear RPM. I've seen that done before (Honda).

Ooooh! What a choice.
Nothing wrong with the accent, larger car than the Micra so the 137hp engine feels lost. It's no go-cart like the Micra.

According to http://www.automobile-catalog.com the manual Accent will beat the manual Micra by a whole second in a 0-to 100-km/h test.
To be fair this is not a real world test – it is simulation based on dimensions, weight, horsepower, gear ratio etc. The curb weight claimed by http://www.automobile-catalog.com is
Micra: 1044 kg / 2302 lbs
Accent: 1129 kg / 2489 lbs
That’s only a difference of 187 pounds.
So you get 28 more horses and an extra gear to make up for the 187 pounds.
Those numbers are claimed for 2016 vehicles.
I know there is a lot more to it. Just saying – there is an argument to be made for both cars and yes I know I’m on a Micra forum.

I bet it comes with these wheel covers.
To be fair the fine print probably states that a higher end model is shown. All the manufactures do it.
For years Chrysler Canada had a Dodge Grand Caravan CVP (Canada Value Package) advertised for under $20,000 but every picture ad I ever saw had either the CREW-PLUS or RT (Road & Track) shown. I believe those are top –line Caravans starting at around $45,000 more than double of the CVP sticker price. Still, that CVP was a very nice vehicle for under $20,000.
You know – Nissan does it too. I always see a Micra S MT advertised below $10,000 but they always show the top – line Micra in the picture.
