    Looks like the solenoid housing is not well protected from corrosion. The coil is positioned with the coil connection on the top that will naturally collect crude and moisture.

    Decided to platsic-dip the coil housing after protecting the delicate parts. Only time will tell if this is the right thing to do as I am not sure how well the plast-dip will hold up to engine heat.
