    DIY: Fog lights installation

    Hi all,
Order just came in for my fog light finisher pieces from Nissan. Also ordered some Bling lights off eBay.

I was told the kit did not come with the finisher pieces so the part numbers from Nissan are 62256-3HN0B and 62257-3HNOB. Cost me $34 a side plus the eBay lights with wiring harness cost $105. Lights should be in this week I will do a full write up and take some pictures. I am not sure how the OE fog lights are wired up but I will be running a switch next to the traction control switch.

Here is a link to the bling lights if anyone is interested.

I can't remember where the fog switch was on the SR I borrowed. I think it was on the turn signal/headlights stalk.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It's on the same place as the regular lights, on a little switch with symbol on it. Mine were not even working and last time I went at the dealer they fixed it. They said is was a corroded contact.

Funny, mine had a disconnected back wiper, so never worked on delivery. I wonder how they test.
As for the fogs, it can be great. Will it come with the switch as well? The Nissan parts provided are the "filler" so the regular lights are fitted properly?

Please do, I would consider, can be useful in the long stretches here without lights. Still not used to not having HIDs.

I bought some 3" caps from home depot and got some JB weld. I bonded the caps to the back of the finisher piece because the brackets supplied did not work with the Micra. The lights now slide into the cap and fit snug.

Running the wire was a bit of a pain but I figured it out, not the best but it works. I ran it from the battery down beside the air intake tube to the bumper then to both the lights. For inside the car there is a rubber plug under the dash beside the hood cable on the fire wall, I ran the switch wires through the plug under the fender skirt and into the engine bay.

Finished product looks good could not get a picture because I finished late. Lights work well... just have to get them angled right.

Mighty Micra, I'm going to try to install Blinglights fog lamps like you did (because the mechanic I took the kit, OEM brackets, and finisher pieces to said the lights just didn't fit and that he couldn't do it).

What are those yellow caps you used? How did you angle them when you were done the install?

The caps were PVC end caps that were used to hold the "bling lights" to the trim piece. I JB welded the PVC end caps and the trim pieces together. To angle them I had to move the lights up or down which caused a gap between the light and the trim piece. I have bought some OEM fog lights now and am waiting to install them.
