    I put several strips of duct tape over the trim, and this completely solved the problem. Even if my foot slides over to that trim, it just slides over, rather than getting pinched / stuck. I was tempted to cut it, like Alex, but really did not feel like slicing up my new car.

    Any chance we can get a pick of what you did here, man? Sounds easy and might help spur on others who are a little shy of the knife!

    As of May 7th, there is a recall for this. Either wait for the notification or contact your Nissan Dealer. I took my car in for it's first check-up/oil change today and the service guy asked if I wanted this done at the same tie.

    Interesting, and good for them. My duct tape is still doing the job, but I will definitely have them do an official fix, when available. I didn't find anything about an official recall yet, so maybe this is voluntary?
