How low will it go? (gas prices)

With gas this cheap, driving a brand new Micra can be cheaper than taking public transit:

How cheap is the zoom juice in your area?

wow, here there is no doubt that driving a Micra is cheaper than taking the public transportation. I was paying 127$ per month to go work in Montreal, a 45 minutes ride in the bus and metro. Public transportation was even more expensive than driving with my old ford Probe. Here in Montreal the gas price is around 1.16. We always pay more than Ontario, for everything.

im paying about $50 for a full 41L tank....here in vancouver. So about $1.22 per Liter give or take.

I refill my tank about once every 1.5 week.

So....$50 times 2.666666 (etc) = about $133.33 per month. That is roughly the same amt as my avg monthly cost of bus/train.

    there are extra pros:
    - i avoid getting drenched in rain, and crappy cold
    - i avoid other people. Overcrowding. Smelliness. Noise. Just their general presence.
    - shorter commutes (about 40-60% shorter)
    - fun driving around
    - freedom
    - no more waiting for bus/train
    - can take my family, friends for a ride
    - can carry stuff...like groceries!
    - avoid worrying about (lack of) bus schedules in certain hours of my work days

    some xtra costs
    - pay insurance
    - pay maintenance costs
    - pay parking

it's worth it. Best of all, it's great value.

They saying it will go lower! It's not gonna stay that way for long though.

Oil will always go up in price until there is another practical source of energy available that it needs to compete with.

    Wow - 99 cents!

I can remember when gas hitting 60 cents caused people to get angry. Lately lots of people have been celebrating 99 cents! Funny how that works.

I don't usually pay attention to the price of gas ... mostly because I don't drive a whole lot, so I don't buy a lot.

Seen it at 88.9 today in Cochrane, AB. I think that's the lowest so far?
