    Time to say Hi

I bought my little Micra S in June in saskatoon(it was time to let my 2001 geo metro go) and after now 11000 km it's time to say HI here in the forum
At first my respect to put such a nice platform together.

I needed a little car to drive around in town. I own a Audi s6 too and I just don't want to drive this car when I get groceries or drive the 11 km to work.

So far I really like my Micra I had two things who went wrong.
First thing was the left wheel bearing. The wheel had round about 3/4 inch play.

Second issue was a noise at 1400 rpm. Dealer replaced a piece of the exhaust. Inner liner came loose.

I'm really glad the we have such a good nissan dealer here in Prince albert. Perfect service.

Only thing what I regret is my colour choice. Black is not a good colour for a car without a/c.

How long did it take that problem show up? Did it come like that from the factory?

I agree! My car on the left, no A/C! (Borrowed Micra SR on the right)

    Also, welcome to the forum!

    Hi,
The issue with the wheel bearing started when the car had 100 km on it. I just had a little "clunk" every time I released the clutch.
No grinding , vibration or any other signs that I would suspect the wheel bearing. I thought it would be clutch or driveshaft related.

That is odd! Usually the sign of a bad wheel bearing is a fairly noticeable droning sound that changes in pitch/loudness with road speed.

I forgot to ask: what engine/transmission was in your 2001 Metro? 2001's are relatively rare - that was the final year.

    Hi.
Exactly my metro was a Chevrolet metro. 3 cylinder with manual transmission bought it from a co worker. Had to replace two exhaust valves.

How many miles did your Metro have on it when it burned those valves?

It had 170000 km or so on it when I replaced the exhaust valves.

Clogged EGR passages were a problem on higher mile Metros/Fireflies. That leads to burnt valves.
My '98 Firefly is still too young to have those kinds of problems with ~36k kms on it.

What did you do with the car? I'm guessing it wasn't a trade-in!

36tkm wow. That's not even broken in. Hehe.
I just got tired of fixing the geo. The front axle is not strong enough for our roads.
I sold the geo to a co-worker. Best thing about the geo was it had a command start and a 900 watt circulating heater
In it. Had to plug it in for an hour at minus 40 and the engine was 55 degrees.
I plugged the car in everyday between oct and April. The fuel milage was just about the same in the winter time then in the summer.
