possibly true.....if you dont have AC i think the filter could fall into an abyss...i dont have AC and lost the filter in an abyss, but got it back, freaked out, and dont run a filter,,,the honda 2015 fit has a filter and drove it last week and smells a little funky,,need to remember to change filter..your dads car didn't have a filet and hes doing fine(ok his memory going a bit)

    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

Yep, The Dreaded Abyss nearly got me too! Go team base-model!

I think I'm going to try to fix maybe some fishing line to it and tie it off somewhere so I can retrieve it easily in case I lose it again.

Just had my car serviced at the local dealer & they phoned me to say my cabin air filter was
dirty & did I want it changed. I declined & decided to change it myself using a new filter from Canadian
    Tire.
This filter has been installed about 1.5 years & looks pretty bad!

Thanks to this thread I was able to check and see that my 2019 SV did not have the cabin air filter installed. I checked my brochure but it did not mention anything about it. However the Nissan.ca website under the specs section DOES say that each trim comes with In-Cabin Microfilter. After a lot of back and forth at the dealership and them saying "it doesn't have one, oh it does have one but your model doesn't come with it, oh it was a miscommunication it does come with it" I finally got one installed free of charge. Below is what the work order mentioned.

A check to see if incabin filter comes with car - customer states missing from factory.
S8 verified incabin missing from factory, replace.

    2019 Micra SV.
After reading this thread decide to check mine too. Cabin filter is missing even though on their website is written that SV trim has cabin filter.

Exact same model as me, you should be able to get one put in free of charge from the dealer.

Tried with nissan Canada today no luck! They blamed the dealer. And dealer is blaming nissan Canada. Its endless loop and nobody wants to pay for cabin filter.
Very poor customer service from nissan.
I had 2 Kias still have 1 and all problems were always solved by Kia Canada directly no hassle nothing. Im not advertising Kia here but from my own experience customer service of Nissan is far behind Kia.

I can help with that cost and also supply you with a part number that works for the Micra and the Versa Note.
First, the cost in Alberta is $37.05 before Taxes, dunno if that will be the same across Canada. And the part
    # is 27277-1HD0B

    Hope that helps!
