A Calgary Herald reader -- and owner of a 2008 Mazda 3 -- puts a Micra SV automatic through its paces for a week. She says she likes it, but is glad to get back in her own car at the end of the test.

    (Unlike me! )

    Pros:
    - "cute" styling
    - simple, clear interior, also fit & finish
    - power, responsive engine
    - "gorgeous" handling
    - tight turning circle

    Cons:
    - lack of center cubby/stowage
    - no temperature gauge (right, Alpha!?)
    - didn't like the digital fuel gauge (esp. when getting low)
    - stiff ride
    - rear headrests block rear view
    - no strap to pull the hatch closed (right, Antruby??)

    Overall:

From the start, the car made a favourable impression... Overall, Nieman thought the Micra represented good value for the money.

Huh, even though it's not on the features list, those things are removable... It's actually the first thing I did to my car.

Yup. I usually do the same thing. But I keep them in the car in case I have back seat passengers.
