    It's that cheap

Getting my brand new micra s (should be called micra 9998) monday.

I'm trading-in a 2010 Mercedes ML and to show how much of a deal the micra is, the dealer is giving me a 2015 micra, he's paying my 12000$ debt on the ML and he's also writing me a check for 5500$.

    Ha! Too funny!

What part of the country are you in? I assume you don't really 'need' all wheel drive and ground clearance then? (Or maybe you have another vehicle?)

    Welcome to the forum!

I'm from Quebec, so yeah I will surely miss that AWD at some point during the winter. At least I take the bus to go to work, so it might not be that bad. I just gotta have faith that the Micra will be able to take on any challenge.

With good snow tires, I would have confidence in it. Decent ground clearance too (for a small car).

You bought the one I would get: white S manual, base. Post pics when you get it.

That is a big change -- Mercedes ML to Micra! What made you decide to do it?

Finally got tired of car payments. Then I thought if I'm going cheaper I might as well go cheapest . The test drive finally sealed the deal. To get that amount of fun and practicality for the price, I would've had to go for a much older car. My mom has often told me about her old Micra and its crazy turning radius, so I even get some sentimental value out of that car.

Congratz! Don't forget to take your mom for a ride, as I'd sure she'd appreciate another chance to take a run in a Micra You could even post back her thoughts comparing the two, if you wish.

Welcome to the site. That is quite the car change. I look forward to hearing your perspective on the new Micra.

Smart move; your Micra will probably hold its value better.

In our culture obsessed with absurd excess, the Nissan Micra is my counterculture car of choice.

I like the roof. I think it makes the Micra even more unique

    Excellent! Congrats.

The roof lines: that's one of my favourite styling features on it too. I love this promo photo:

Though it's not just for styling. It stiffens the roof panel and reduces the chance of vibrations.

What are you going to do about winter tires? Put them on your stock steel wheels and then mount the summer tires on alloys next year?
