I got a block heater installed today (in Alberta)! In case anyone is wondering, it cost $89.94 for the block heater, $89.94 for the cord set, $139.00 for labour, and $13.90 for misc. shop supplies. It was a lot more than I was expecting, based on ABMicra17's comment above.

the "cordset" ....whatever that is...sound a bit expensive, other than that it doesnt sound insane.
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

I think the cord set is just the adapter so that I can plug it into a regular extension cord. I didn't realise that it would have that, which is why I was surprised at the extra price. But it will be worth it when I am warm in the winter!

mine came with a block heater and a coiled up wire with a plug next to the battery, i bought a short extension cord (i could replace) and put it under the hood instead of constantly plugging and unplugging the factory plug because if that wire or plug gets screwed up your pucked!..so the original block heater plug should last 50 years or more. its also odd the blockheater and cordset are EXACTLY the same price, i hope they didn't sell you a 12 dollar extension cord for 89 dollars.....upon further research there might be a separate cord ....esh...i guess that makes sense.

The plug is mounted into the grill, not dangling outside, so it looks good (I've always had an ugly orange/yellow cord hanging out of the front on my old cars, so this one is fancy!). The adapter cord is going to be a hassle to use but I will just keep it attached to the extension cord, so not really any extra work.

Looks like it might be screwed in to the grille (or clipped) but I didn't look too closely when I got it home yesterday, and today it's rainy so I couldn't get a good look.

cool...looks good, never seen one of those before...similar,but seemed expensive, maybe that's why yours was a bit more.....all i got was a cord bundled up by the battery!

based on the odd plug, i think you have a good quality aftermarket block heater--swedish for common sens probably...dont lose the cord!

one would assume they dont have a bunch of different proprietary plugs , so ANY calix cord would work...

I thought they would use a Nissan one since it was done at the dealership. These were the numbers on the invoice:

    99998410823 block heater
    99998461003 cord set

maybe nissan uses calix,if the car didnt come stock with a block heater it may be what nissan offers if someone wants one...weird the part numbers have 9999 in front...like someone was filling digits. i don't think you got a piece of crap...you just got a proprietary cable.....i dont think that's a nissan manufactured piece...but what is these days ?.... i searched those numbers on google...i cant say either way...stay warm!!!
