Wheels sends out another reviewer to report on the Micra -- SR manual this time (manual in a press review car... wot's that!?). And they come back with a fairly glowing report.

You know you're in for a positive review when the first paragraph to mention the car says "it doesn’t take long to get to know it, and to know it is to love it."

They even report fuel economy: 6.7 L/100 km

Likes:

- peppy engine
- light clutch and easy shifting
- steering weight & feel
- "cheeky" styling
- cargo space with rear seats down
- "all day comfortable" seats
- good visibility
- headroom
- simple to use controls

Dislikes:

- top gear is too short -- keeps the "hamsters" too busy -- (3400 RPM to "keep up with traffic")
- door rest is hard on the elbow
- seatbelt location makes it hard to reach the seatback adjustment

Overall:

The Micra an ideal travelling companion: not so precious that you worry about it, but surprisingly enjoyable to drive. [It] hits many sweet spots: it’s good as a first car, game for the city and congenial for a road trip.
