    Hello from Holland

    Hi, I'm Bart, married, father of 2 and a small car owner for over 22 years.

    The Micra has been on sale over here since the first version (K10) came out in 1984.
    The current model (K13) has been on sale for some time, but only recently got the restyle (no more oval headlights).
    It has a 1.2 3 cylinder engine, either with or without mechanical compressor. The version with the compressor is the one to have, as it is both more powerful and more economical.

    Hi Bart!

    Of course as is always the case, we get only the largest engine option here in North America. The supercharged 1.2L engine sounds fun -- this American reviewer loved it.

    Where does the car fall in terms of price in the Netherlands? I have a feeling it's not the cheapest car, as it is here.

    As for those headlights, I think in order of preference I like the hilarious looking K12 first:



    ...then the facelifted K13, then the pre-facelifted K13, which doesn't have much character at all. Small cars should have character, I think.

    I'll keep it short with a reference to the importer site.
    Cheapest version is 9,999 € which includes 21% VAT and ??% luxury tax, which is economy related, and this version falls into the C category so it is substantial. It excludes delivery costs, but that is about as much as the haggling margin.

    That makes it about 2,000 € more expensive than the cheapest A segment small cars on the market, like the Peugeot 107, Volkswagen Up exclamation mark and Hyoundai I10 (which we own), though those are all considerably smaller than the Micra.
    The Micra is one of the cheapest contesters in the B segment here.

    Its odd how Nissan markets the car differently in different countries...

    I have driven the K10, K11 and K12 at least once, but not the K13 (yet).
    I made an account on the (Dutch) Micrafanclub.com site too; I'll drop the coin when I get admitted there.
    I hope some K13 pilots from there will chime in here and share their experiences.

    That would be neat. I say welcome! I know more than a few 1st & 2nd generation Dutch people -- many families moved over here after the war.
