    Common issues to look for

    Hi there!

I wanted to make this post asking if people could chime in on sone common issues of the k13 micra specifically the manual transmission one. I’m looking to purchase a used micra and am looking for something with a manual transmission and around 80-150,000km.

    Thanks

The exhaust seems to fall apart at the middle area---mine has not yet
The wheel bearings, es[specially rear-make sure not noisy---mine are still ok i think
The air handling unit,,,,make sure blower works and other HVAC controls work
that's about it!.....no one wants a manual so you should be able to get a deal. The 2015 had the block heater stock on all models, i think they removed it in later years. the 2015 don't have backup cameras, i think that was a gov requirement in later years
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

To add to this, the later models have a revised design that doesn't have the flange above the axle where it usually rusts apart.

Also check for rust at the rear wiper, as well as the backup camera if so equipped.

The insides of the bottom of the fenders tend to accumulate leaves and muck, so make sure those aren't rusty either.

Dash rattle - I used trim tools to space out the dashboard from the A pillar trim on the passenger side and slid some foam in between from the base of the windshield to the back edge of the dash to resolve this.

My passenger airbag cover was also rattling - I removed the airbag and lined the edge of the lid with some thin foam to resolve this.

Headliner vibration - the glue on mine has started letting go above the passenger visor. Every once in a while I hear the vibration and just press it back up. It's still tacky enough to hold after being pressed. I may hit it with a blow drier some day to see if I can "reflow" the adhesive...
