New Micra? Or just new to North America?

The Micra was discontinued in Canada in 1991 and has never been sold in the states. However, it's been sold in Europe, Japan, and elsewhere continuously since then.

Is this Micra just an updated 4th gen? Or is this a new car entirely?

It is an updated version of the 4th gen. From the UK reviews I've watched/read, the interior is quite similar, while the exterior has been mellowed down a little (I like the 4th gen look though).

I didn't realize the States never had the old Micra. Learned something new today.

The "2015" car coming to Canada is an update of the K13 4th generation.

Confusingly, in some markets (Europe) they're calling the update the "New Micra". (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_...13.E2.80.93.29)

And apparently in yet other countries (India), they're selling both the pre- and post-facelifted versions at once.

That styling looks like Renault's influence to me! I don't mind it, but I can see it being polarizing. The "updated" car is far more conventional looking.

Tim - PS. the pic you posted is of the previous gen (k12) Micra.

    Here's the un-facelifted K13:

Just reading this one post gave me flashbacks from my junior high school day. I remember calling her car "micro" but she was on the far side of 300 LBs....

Whoops... I still like both more than the 5th gen though.

I wonder how comfortable they are for the tall folks like me? My accent that I wore out last year was not bad as long I was in the drivers seat. I think I saw a two door cousin fof the Mirca it looked very small for me.

Good question. I suspect it's fine for big & tall people - the best selling subcompact in the States is the Nissan Versa, and this Micra is very similar in the front seats and actually has a slightly taller roof.

As for comfort, it's so subjective the only way to be sure would be to sit in/drive one. We're all built so differently, what's fine to some people is torture to others.

The UK reviews I've seen have had good things to say about interior head room. I don't know about the comfort aspect though.
