Some Jalopnik chatter about the Micra

Not a lot of chatter, but I find it interesting to read people's reactions to the car:

Hmm, an in Depth review of the 2015 Micra.

Jalopnik, Lifehacker, Gizmodo, they all have the same target audience.

I know that Nissan believes that Americans Dislike hatchbacks and small cars, but they could test it out.. Im sure the US is probably fed up with high prices and thier gas price by now. Send 1000 units to showrooms and if they dont sell, ship them to canada.. Maybe even 100 as a trial.

Easy for me to say in my armchair of course.. lol

According to CBC, American Nissan dealers would sell to Canadian customers, though they said the warranty may not be valid in Canada. If the reverse is true, Nissan Canada should note the number of crossborder shoppers coming over to buy Micras; if there are many such customers, it may be a sign that Nissan do well selling them in the States

I don't think an American can legally import a new Micra into the States because it hasn't been certified by the various regulatory bodies (EPA, NHTSA).

It is a bigger thing then we can understand so many car companies are so intertwined I think they don't want to sell it down there because it will compete with something similar built down there a very vague explanation but that is what I think.

I think its just that Americans arent as fond as small fuel sipping hatchbacks.
