So I contacted my local dealer ( midway Nissan) regarding what oil filter to use with synthetic oil and they told me that the standard filter is as good as your gonna get, even a couple of performance shops stated that Nissan uses race quality filters, so I think I'm gonna stick with the Nissan filter. BTW Mobil 1 5w30 is on sale at crappy tire for 31.99 a great buy!!

The manual states oil change with filter is 3.5 L, however when I placed only 3 liters the dipstick shows a full change to H. I suspect there is enough residual oil in the system to overcome the need to add the extra 0.5 liters.

CHangin oil it's a very easy procedure to make, but you need some time and the right tools to made. Everytime i need to change the oil, i send for my old friend as a good mechanic and i buy all the parts. He charges arround R$ 40,00/ 12,00 CAD. Not too much for a service like that. I prefer to change the oil and filter plus the gas filter. All this parts are cheap and avoid any kind of problems. My Nissan it's March (or you prefer to called as Micra) 2013 model with the 1.6 16v (Renault/Nissan) engine. For the brazilian standards the car's manual defines 10W 40 semi synthetic oil for changes every 10.000km. I always add ELF oils because they are the official oil for Renault cars. I know many guys here write about using 5W30, why here is different? First this a tropical country, second we use more ethanol (from sugar cane) on our fuel. My car is a flexfuel engine, i run everytime with ethanol. Polutes less and the torque it's much better than gasoline.

I know it's out of toppic, but someone can help me? I really want a "Micra" sticker to replace my "March" sticker. If you leave in Canada and want to replace for "March" i can send you with any cost if you send to me.

Yeah Ukrainian Tire had Pennzoil Ultra Platinum with PurePlus Technology synthetic on a great deal a few weeks ago. Going to run my wife's Micra on that with a Nissan oil filter. Its made from Natural Gas apparently. As for trading a Micra label for a March label - its not my car so I cannot speak to that. Drive on =) and yeah all the oil companies have excellent BS marketing. PurePlus technology? Pffft.

If they are the same exact engines, then it most likely is the oil pan.
