Question P0011 code, 1 week after an oil change

    Hi,

I change my Micra 2016 oil (Mobil 1 5w30 advanced synthetic) last week. This week I have the P0011 code. Poorly idle but the engine is ok when I'm on the road. I removed the intakes valves timing control soleinoid and the test seem ok. ~8.2ohms and the soleinoid works fine on 12v.

I saw that the problem can be the oil viscosity. 5W30 in the car book and the dealer tells me 0W20. ??

I replug the sensor and reset the code, problem and code gone. But, I think the problem will come back in a week.

    Question:
    Which oil do you put?
Other sensor can produce this code?

    Thanks
    DieuVolkanos

5w30 (synthetic) as per the manual.

    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

When I had my 2015 Micra, I always used 5W-30 both conventional and synthetic and even switched between the two a couple of times. Never had an issue for 200,000 km. So you should be fine using 5W-30. The manual calls for it. My new Sentra takes 0W-20. Maybe that’s Nissan’s standard for new engines, the advisor at the dealership might have mixed it up when they said it takes 0W-20

Manual doesn't specify type, simply the grade of oil. I listed the type I use in parentheses.

My manual lists 0w-20 synthetic for the 2019 Micra. I remember reading on here somewhere that it changed one year.

Interesting. Does your 2019 Micra still have the same 1.6 L 109 HP HR16DE engine, or did they swap it out for a new engine? I'm still trying to figure out why Nissan moved from 5W-30 in most of their lineup to 0W-20. I'm guessing for profit, but I wonder if it does have anything to do with performance, fuel economy, or both? My Sentra has this shroud that runs the length of the entire body and it's held in by a million one time use clips, so I have to take it to the dealer. No access hatches or anything. But at the same time, fuel economy is comparable to my previous Micra, despite a larger engine and a heavier curb weight
