    Strange Noise When Turning Left

Hi all, looking for some advice on an issue I'm having with my 2009 Micra. When the driver's window is rolled down I can here a scrapping sound when I turn the wheel to the left. It appears to be coming from the front driver's side wheel and sounds like the noise you get when brake pads are worn. My vehicle only has 6k so I'm sure the pads are ok. Any thoughts?

    No idea.

Does it make the sound when stationary and you turn the wheel, or does the car have to be moving?

Only when in motion. It's like the noise from "Squeelers" when a brake pad is worn out.

Id say look for a rock lodged in the wheel ? caliper area ?...or anything else that might touch wheel

beginning of wheel bearing problems (side load) ?

if you go slow, is the noise slow?
If you gofast, is the noise fast ?
    (try in empty parking lot)

so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

Yes the noise is slow when going slow and fast when going faster. It might be a rock lodged in the caliper...I'll check for that. The car seems fine otherwise, just this scrapping noise when turning left. It seems like it's coming from the rotor/brake area.

How are you with a wheel wrench and a jack?

Jack & support that corner of the car, take the wheel off & have a peek.

Could be a stuck rock. Could be a caliper slider pin has siezed from infrequent use leading to one pad being worn down. Could be the backing plate got dinged and is brushing the back of the rotor under side load. (I had that happen to my car a couple of years ago.)

One way to find out! If you're inclined.

Could also be the dust shield touching the rotor. Happened to me a few weeks ago. All I did was bent it out slightly.
