Good to know that its sales figures are good.......so perhaps the K13.5 will be around for a long time in Mexico.....

I bet this means another 4 or 5 years of production at least.

All from the Nissan parts bin. Nice face lift.

Brand identity. It's supposed to look like the Kicks, the Rogue, the Altima, etc., and they've done a pretty cringe job on the front IMO... I do like the rear bumper and LED tail light updates though. It feels like they did the facelift on the K13 to try and shoehorn an old car that's very cheap to build into their current design language for just... a... bit... longer. I guess the bean counters felt they could keep selling an 11+ year old design if they tacked on a different grille, bumpers, lights and some wheels from a Versa. It's a pretty weird decision by Nissan as they've had the current K14 Micra since 2018 that already follows the current design language and is better in every way.

I had a Sentra SR with the god-forsaken CVT - It was actually a pretty great car all around but was ruined by the CVT, full stop. I'll never own another car with a CVT... Not ever. Worst POS 'transmission' I've ever had the displeasure to drive. I was given a Kicks as a courtesy vehicle a few months ago and it's a cromulent car... Which is to say boring and forgettable but basically does all the things as expected in an unassuming way, all whilst being forced to endure an CVT - For which they charge a lot more than the discontinued Versa Note, which is essentially the same car except closer to the road. They'll sell many many thousands of the silly things, but not one of them will be to me.

Just for ahem, kicks, I tried out the Kicks when at my local Nissan dealer......what I found disappointing was that the interior(at least the front) seemed it had far less interior space than my Micra. If you've ever watched Scotty Kilmer on Youtube, he's no fan of Nissan's Jatco CVT transmissions either.

There's something to be said for the tried & true conventional automatics like the Micra's.
The Mirage uses a JATCO CVT -- same as the Versa Note and the Chevy Spark -- and it's not hard to find owners on the forums who have experienced CVT failures. I think you'd be lucky to get over 250,000 km from one.
I can't remember hearing about a Micra auto transmission failure though. Of course, 4-speeds is pretty archaic, and doesn't help with fuel economy. But if I had to buy a car with an auto transmission in a car I was planning to keep a long while, I'd go with a multi-geared one over a CVT.
In reality, I only buy manuals. :P
(Though that is getting harder to do as time goes on.)
