2019 Micra S 5 speed Manual transmission
bought new in spring 2020

12.12 km/litre on highway(8.25 litre/100km)
thats like 34 mpg (Imperial gallon Canada)

in town its 8.86 km/liter
i do around 25 mpg (imperial gallon) in town
(11.28 litre/100 km)

26 December 2023 (Winter started)
snow tire studded
Regular gas
-5 C to +5 C temp outside
no snow, no ice to rain during that trip
not to much wind
tires inflated to 31 psi
doesn't look like the brake are dragging on car
Driving 110 to 120 km/hours
small hill on Highway

What can i do to improve mileage?

Do you have a lead foot?.....with a standard transmission you should be getting much better gas mileage than me. I drive a 2019 SV with automatic transmission....which gets around 40 mpg highways/freeway, 34-35 mpg combined and 25-28 stop and go driving. Its much worse in snow and cold weather, of course.....I make sure my airconditioning is turned off when using the defrost mode in winter, and that of course helps a bit.....When was your car last taken in for a tuneup?.....Its the one drawback to the Micra Ive found.....people who I know who own Versas with the same engine complain about less than expected mileage too....it gets even poorer economy...but having the reliability of a regular transmission(either manual or automatic) vs CVT, and acceleration better than a hamster wheel three cylinder?.....priceless.

Thanks for reply, only changed oil and filter twice a year, last service was last falls. Maybe i should change the spark plug.(Bought Micra 2019 new in spring 2020. About 39,500 km on it)
Next fuel i'm going to try premium gas

I didnt notice any improvement in mileage when I tried a tankful of premium gas( I was like you hoping to see better gas mileage)......I really didnt notice any improvement in power either....I dont think the manufacturer recommends the use of premium fuel.....I'm due for a "biggie" servicing....My car is a 2019, same as yours, but bought in 2021 with only 3000K's on the odometer. It has almost the same amount of KM's on the odometer now as yours. I know for this upcoming scheduled maintenance they are going to replace the air filter.....perhaps that could be looked at too on your vehicle?. I know if on the freeway/highway if I just back down on my speed to 80 kmph....my mileage improves markedly.....As for in town/stop and go mileage....I live in a very hilly town, and it seems regardless of what I do, or how I drive the vehicle....its going to still be 25 to 28 mpg. Have you thought about posting your mileage on the sites fuel economy log?....Its a fast and easy way to calculate your mileage. It's become an obsession with me....lol. In reviewing my fuel log, I seem to notice I got better mileage using Chevron gas.....but I rarely fill there because my local Freshco(Brand X gas) is always 3-4 cents a litre cheaper. I have got as much as 800km on a tank, and as little as 400km on a tank... i average 600km.

i have a 2015 5 spd and i think it says 6.8 on the dash meter pretty regular ? i dont drive like grandma,but i am no mario andretti

your milage DOES seem really bad?

id agree air filter, maybe sparkplugs? but thats really weird

I'm showing 5.6 most of the time on my Lier on the cluster. my fuel milage drops in winter as i'm sure it's the quality of the gas

Lol...Thank you, Mr. Micra......It's become a bit of an obsession with me, I must admit.....I think i have only missed logging one or two fill ups since I purchased the car......either I lost the receipt, or I didnt have enough money to top up the tank to do a proper calculation.
The gas station at Freshco, where I purchased ninety percent of my gas, has now become a Shell station, and the Shell Station and the Esso station in town have now become Centex....so I suspect those two are getting the gas from the same refinery. The car does seem to run better on Chevron gas, but it invariably is 4-5 cents more a litre. I'm goin to try a tankful and see how she runs and what kind of mileage I get. I'll keep you posted....

Did a Fill-up with Premium (no ethenol)

Just in town I did 282.2 km before top it up with 27.9 litre premium
its 28.3 mpg (Imperial gallons) in town
