    Rear Sill and Bumper Guard

Today I installed the OEM rear sill guard and bumper guard. Both are made out of aluminum and are good quality, though incredibly expensive for what they are. I wanted to go something aftermarket, but quality options were lacking IMO.

I really dislike the painted sill on the Micra - it looks cheap and on the vehicle I recently purchased used the red paint was scratched up pretty good.

I am happy with the look, though in hindsight, I probably would have just used black paint for the sills instead. The aluminum pieces don’t fit the entire width. There is about a 3/8” gap on either side. The kit comes with basically black tape that you are supposed to apply to fill the gaps. I ended up taping off the area instead and painted the gaps using flat black spray paint. Same look but longer durability.

I bought the mat used from a guy for $20. It reversible - one side is vinyl and the other side is carpet.

Nice look! I just added vinyl wrap on my sill to avoid being scratched.

I believe the mat is an OEM accessory.

I wish I had of skipped the sill guards. They look decent but the gaps annoy me. For $160/pair, they should have provided full coverage. Vinyl would have been a great alternative.
