    Transmission fluid temperature question

Does anyone know how much theoretically will be the difference in reading temperature from automatic transmission sensor and the pan?

I suspect they should +- 5c difference. But if someone experimented with this would like to know.

Is the sensor data available via an OBD-II reader? (I'm not sure)

If so, you could use a cheap OBD bluetooth dongle and free smartphone app to monitor it.

i don't think that's monitored and there is no thermostat in an auto trans cooler so why would the car care ? and what would it do in response?
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build

Well I.know some people add aux transmission coolers... but usually only those with extreme duty (e.g. towing in the mountains).

I think pretty much anything that comes with a "tow package" has a transmission cooler and likely the ability to monitor it. That being said vehicles that come with tow packages usually have the ability to tow. The Micra does not. I have a bluetooth OBD-II reader and the transmission coolant temperature is not available.

Well, transmission temperature sensor is on transmission the sensor exist. If you cant read through obd scanner that doesn’t necessarily mean that there is no sensor that means that your scanner cant understand that pid and decode it.

I already checked and difference is 2-3c degrees which is acceptable.
