    New member with 2019 Micra

Hi Everyone, Just got my second 5 year Micra S lease five months ago.My first Micra S was a red 2015 standard no options. The new Micra is black, standard, and came with an improved radio(no CD but backup camera) over the 2015 cd player, but no optionsNo air conditioning, in either car.I already switched out the factory system with a PioneerAVH2550 deck,4 jL door speakers+sub and a couple amps.
About me...I am newly retired,65y/o this month.I am glad Nissan made the Micra as it is the best car for the money.I am not a wealthy retiree so it is nice to be able to get a decent car I can afford.

    Welcome!

I don't think we've had many members who leased their Micras. What prompted leasing vs. purchasing?

I'm also curious what the residual value is after 5 years. Does Nissa declare that at the start of the lease?

    Glad to have you here!

For my 5 year old Micra S the buy back on the lease was $4500.in Feb/20.
In 5 years when I return this 2019 Micra S,$5,500.( if I choose to buy it outright). The new Micra was about $10,500. with no options, and the previous vehicle in 2015 was $9,995. outfitted simularly.
The difference between is 2019 gets a back up camera and ceases to have a CD player but gets swc's and bluetooth.Plus Nitrogen in the tires.

I lease it for the same reason I like them.I am retired and need something super affordable. It only saves a small amount each month financially however it seems Nissan finances leasing on these cars without much attention to your income.I have a good credit history but my income is embarassing.

The Micra is really one of a kind in this day and age. Most cars these days have so many gadgets and bells that leave you somewhat of along for the ride. The Micra is what a car should be where you are still engaged with the driving experience. Also one of the few non-luxury cars that has a real car culture around it. I plan to run mine as long as possible (27k on 2016 SR 5MT). I wish I had roll down windows.

I just got a 2019 Micra and am retired as well. Thought it was a practical decision as I didn't need a large vehicle to do the few things needed around town. I was more than impressed with it's ride and maneuverability and feel it's a perfect vehicle for my lifestyle now.

you may want to consider buying a vehicle outright...i bought the 2015 for 10k lets say....11ktax in...but in 2016....so for 5 years i paid 2200 a year ...what did u pay a year???...and that assumes it stops running tomorrow ...but im assuming another 5 good years...which with a lease you can be blissfully unaware of

my 89 year old mother had to get used to a 2020 rav4...even I don't understand all the buttons!!!
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!
