P0101 fault code (Mass Air Flow sensor MAF?) SOLVED: plugged cat converter!

    2015 Micra with 239k
I loose power on hills and get a 101 fault code
Car runs fine on flat up to 100k
New Mass air flow sensor no difference
Vacuum gauge 19 inches at any RPM
Accelerate to 5000 RPM and release indicates very bad rings
Spark plug are NKG Iridium a few 1000 old look very good could be lean slight brown colour.
    Compression test cold 150,150,150.165
Believe it is not enough gas going in when under load.
Anybody Know about the 3 speed fuel pump.
Putting cleaner in and have seen no difference.

    ground wire

    Than You Rick
I did check for Gnd at first
I had a good gnd less than 1 ohm
    Battery voltage on 1 pin
    4.79 volts on another
It ran terrible when MAF disconnected
The versa manual has fault finding for 101 Micra does not
The battery was never disconected but 20 k ago I could hear a slight miss when under load
I put new plugs in 10k ago the miss was still there
About 3 weeks ago I started loosing power under load runs OK on flat or idling or reeving to 6k no codes
Vacuum should have gone up to 25 down to 2 mine went to 20 and down to 0 for acceleration test
When you press accelerator down hard in 2nd it hesitates big time like it is getting no gas.
Cleaned throttle body no difference but it threw a couple of codes until it relearned.
mileage has gone from 5.6 to 6.2 per 100 km
hills that I went up in 4th are now 2nd doing 70k struggling instead of 100.

    Thank You
    Gary.

the catalytic converter is plugged?....or a squirrel nest in the airbox?....a long shot...you should get a 'catalytic converter below efficincy error"...the ehaust pipe has a massive dent in it? with those compression numbers the engine should be goood, mybe ther is enough gas but not enough air...either getting in or being let out....the MAF things the mass airflow is wrong. obvously if the trhtottle is flat to the floor and engine doing 5k, it should know what MAF to expect, and it isnt seeing that?? you seem to have trouble in max airflow(and fuel obviously) situation=load

    Causes of Code P0101

Dirty, obstructed, or faulty mass air flow sensor
Damaged or disconnected air intake boot (snorkel)
    Vacuum leak??
Clogged or improperly installed air filter
Clogged catalytic converter / restricted exhaust

The purge valve solenoid is not working there is 14.2 volts on the connector ordered one pickup tomorrow. Not sure if this will fix it.
