Nissan recall for reverse camera

Nissan is recalling almost every 2018-2019 car it has sold in Canada & the U.S. because the reverse camera display system does not meet regulations -- it's a software issue.

As part of a safety campaign that affects 1.2 million vehicles, including 126,195 in Canada, Nissan is recalling 2018-2019 Altima, Frontier, GT-R, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Qashqai, Rogue, Sentra, Titan and Versa Note models, as well as 2018-2019 Infiniti Q50, Q60, Q70, Q70L, QX30, QX50, QX60 and QX80 models.

The issue:

Nissan says in government documents posted Tuesday that owners can adjust the camera displays so the image isn’t visible. The displays will keep that setting the next time the vehicles are shifted into reverse. That violates federal safety standards.

Oddly, the Micra isn't in the list of affected vehicles, despite the Versa Note being included. I would have assumed they share the same part, since much of the interior including dashboard components are shared with the Micra.

I'll be a little surprised if this isn't an oversight.

lol...take the car in so they can make it more unadjustable........i still wont take it in for the hypersensitive side air bags....do i really want them splicing wires?

I just got a notice of the recall and also a call from the dealer. I won't bother with it.

My guess on why the Micra is not on the news release is because they probably copied from the States where they don't sell Micras.

BTW - I hit a deer the other day...push pins were snapped but no damage to front bumper. Drivers headlight took a hit and the bracket snapped that mounts to the frame. Replacement light was $500. Thought about trying to MacGyver it but nah...

i havent got the airbag recall done im so freaked they are going to be cuttin and solderin wiring...its failsafe,,,they go off unexpectedly so ...yay?


the fact u can adjust a bunch of stuff is awesome!...i wouldn't give that up...if my 2015 had a reverse camera <sad face> but that's what 9999 gets ya!

Haven't yet received any recall for my 2019, The reverse cam is completely ridiculous! In the 3 years I've owned one, I've never used it.

Go to dealership and ask to do the recall for camera. Also complain about your headunits intermittent bluetooth connectivity problem and either get new firmware update or whole head unit replaced for free. Its simple u have to keep complaining man.
