Won’t start (Solved: fuel pump gone)

Well it happened. I’m stuck at work last one to leave and the car won’t start. Half a tank of fuel and battery good.
It turns over fine but not starting.
Getting it towed to the shop to see what is wrong with it.
Checked the obvious fuses and such, gas cap, etc. But could see anything out of the ordinary.
Hope this doesn’t cost too much.
    90513 km on her.

So i dont have the bill on me, but the the shop i use has been very good to me for many years.
they priced out the after market parts and dealer parts. the available aftermarket parts were more then dealer so they installed the dealer pump...
i think it was 685 ish.
plus 1.2 hr labour and tax. came out the door at 902.

my build date suggests i can use the 331 dollar one, i will start saving for an early christmas present.

    the pumps seem VERY expensive.....

is it really 1/10th the value of the car ?

So no check engine light or codes ?

wouldnt it give a "no or low fuel pressure" indication?

Important to keep in mind that when the key is turned to the on position the pump does a prime then it waits for the cam/crank sensor to tell the ECU that the engine is turning. Only then does the ECU turn on the pump thus allowing the car to start.
