I"m pretty sure AlphaMicra posted the current draw of his... I seem to remember it being around 300 watts.

    Going to have a look...

I ended up using a Stanley Timermax Outdoor Pro with my car. Model #51215. You can set up a few different on/off times on it and it has internal batteries to keep the day and time in case of a power failure. It also has two ports on the bottom to plug into and is good for 125VAC @ 1876 Watts.

Good to know. I bought a wifi switchable one that is 1800w 15 amp. I’ll use it on timer mostly but on weekends I can trigger from inside before I go to leave and not have to go outside.

^ wifi remote switch for your block heater? That's a great idea.

I have a regular one on a little fob, but found out it's the same frequency as my neighbour's car fob. So when she unlocked her car, it turns off my block heater!

I figured most days the timers i have used for years is good enough, but really there are a few occasions when i dont want it one, too warm to need it or not driving to work today...or time when i want it on, saturday morning or something...
now i can just say "Echo, turn on outdoor plug" and the block heater turns on, or christmas lights (both currently) hahah
