Yaris/Echo fans in this forum (I was one of them) may be interested to know...

Toyota has let it be known that it's planning to trim unpopular vehicles from its North American line-up.

That means the Yaris deathwatch is on:

The Corolla, Camry and Avalon are all safe, as they’ve seen steady increases in sales year after year.

The Yaris Hatch, however, will probably be dropped, as sales of the subcompact have dropped almost 80 percent since the start of 2018.

A LOT of small cars have been cancelled in the past few years as buyer preference switches to crossovers/CUV's/SUV's.

For comparison, Yaris vs. Micra sales 2015-2017:

    YEAR Micra sales
    Yaris sales (includes iA)
    2015 11,909
    8196
    2016 9896 7779
    2017 8812 2390

What the heck happened to the Yaris last year?!!

we test drove a yaris before we bought the honda fit and my wife couldnt see throught the massive A pillars so sadly a non starter....in hindsight the honda's not that much smaller.....dont notice the micras.....hopefully no rollovers to test!!
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

Spotted this Yaris in Abbotsford today. Got to say, I am not a Yaris fan. But I love what the guy did with it.
