foggy windshield : full airflow does not clear on cold or humid days

    Hello,

I am having trouble clearing all the fog off the inside of my windshield on a rainy/humid day, and same occurs with frost in the winter.

I thought of looking at the cabin air filter, before realizing it did not have one!

Fan runs well, and is in fact quite noisy, in the sense that it seems to be blowing a lot of air. However when I place my hand on the air outlet at the bottom of the windshield at highest power, the sides do not seem to be getting much air, especially on the driver's side.

    Any idea??

Have the same problem here in Mexico. I find a slight opening in the windows helps somewhat.

If you don't have air conditioning you will have problems on humid days.

Maybe you have the ventilation set on recirculate. Try moving the lever to the other position to get fresh air.

If you already did that, then maybe you have a leak in the cooling system that is in the heater.
I had that once before in VW Jetta.

simonpierrelacasse, which model of Micra do you have? S?

If the air flow seems restricted, I would wonder about a defect in the duct work, as skill57 says.

Do you live in a rural area? Mouse nest? (Has happened to me!)

It could also possibly be a problem with the control mechanism that moves the various flaps/doors in the duct work.

Do you live close to your dealership? I would do a comparison of air flow against another Micra.

Sheesh if I had read this post I would have not posted a new thread. In my case the ventilation set on recirculate. Easy to miss

Another thought: I know people who swear by a product called "Fog-X" for interior glass, same company that makes "Rain X" for the outside.

I've seen a photo taken by an acquaintance who lives on the BC coast (very humid) and the difference between the treated area and the untreated area was surprisingly clear.

I found a handy information sticker on the back of my drivers side sun visor about defogging the windshield.
I have to ask is your AC lamp lit & the compressor cycling 0N/OFF (clicking noise)?
The reason I ask is the 1st time I test drove a Micra it was an S Model with AC.
It was in January & slushy rainy conditions.
I saw the AC light ON & thought that's stupid & turned it off.
After driving a short distance the windows started to fog up a little so I turned the fan to MAX & then the windshield completely fogged up to the point I couldn't see anything through it.
Turning the AC button ON did the trick.
