Nissan Micra hydraulic struts - A dealer Item

Finally got around this week to deal with my stiff strut. Went to two dealers to get my strut covered under warranty and they won't touch it unless it is leaking and broken.

Nissan dealerships are asking $205.08 new. Part Number E43029LE0D

I Asked PartSource, Canadian Tire, Napa, CAPS, Benson Auto, and CarQuest with the same answer. "Sorry, not in the computer system"

Did a search on E43029LE0D with Google and came up with

    Value Advantage Part Available
Part Name: STRUT KIT FT RH
    Part Number: E4C023WC0JNW

    Replaces OE Part:
    E43023AN0C
    E43023AN0D
    E43023WC0C
    E43029KF0B
    E43029LE0B
    E43029LE0D
    E43029MB0A

Called Nissan back about this part number and they told me its a cheaper brand? for $168. This guy told me all of Nissan struts are gas but some other Nissan parts guy said its hydrulic?

the canadian strut has a sway bar end link attachment.

i am no strut expert...but can become one if needed ..lol.... but they are ALL hydraulic, and ALL? have gas in them.....like its a piston pushing on fluid through a small orifice..that's the damping..there may be some gas in the system..i think they ALL have gas since like 1920

    youve tried rock auto?
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

I can pretty much guarantee that we don't have pure gas shock absorber... the ride would be as they say "cock stiff", the rears at least are just regular mono tubes (oil filled with a pocket of high pressure gas, no barrier between them, inverting the rear shock causes gurgling and a spongy shock until it's compressed to clear the valve (I'm not fishing out the fronts right now :P ))

There are mono tubes with no gas at all, simply "hydraulic shocks / struts" or "non-gas", and they fell out of fashion for road vehicles quite a while ago due to their terrible ride quality.

Rockauto is the go to -> and since the Micra and Versa have many interchangable parts, and you can search by part number

looking for your first 4 "replaces" numbers generated the 2015 Versa line of shocks / struts -> Monroe makes the following, it's $60 Canadian

    https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...308820&jsn=474

If you can't ship stuff from the states and someone says 'lawl wut micra?' - ask for 2015/6/7 versa parts

I looked at the OEM alternative and it does not State our part number for our cars but it has two part numbers that the alternative one has
    E43023AN0C,
    E43023AN0D,
    E43023WC0C,
    E43029KF0B,
    E43029MB0A

Meanwhile the part number for our Micras is
    E43029LE0D

Rockautos monrow alternative numbers are for the versa that you linked
    Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): E43023AN0C, E43023AN0D, E43023WC0C, E43029KF0B, E43029MB0A, E43033AN0C, E43033AN0D, E43033WC0C, E43039KF0B, E43039MB0A, E62103AN0C, E62103AN0D, E62103WC0C, E62109KN0A, E62109MB0A

I wonder if it does fit? I asked this question to a Nissan dealership and he said it would not fit the micras as it is not the same part number

great pictures!...does the old one have the same force trying to extend it..the gas...as the new one?

what are your thoughts on the "problem" now?

assume you got at nissan dealer?..how much out of interest....

I made a YouTube video of it extending under its own weight. My thoughts are the problem is a lot more better. I did not get this at a Nissan dealership. I got it from caps 477 bucks that was listed for a 2015 Nissan Versa.

My choice would be the KYB or the Gabriel. If they fit too.

    or

The Garbriel fit the versa and the note and the KYB say Versa.
Your pictures definitely help. Thank you
