    Spare Tire Removal & Inspection

While removing my rear wheels to clean up my brake drums I decided to try lowering the spare tire to check it.
The lowering bolt inside the rear hatch was super tight & could not be loosened using the car's supplied tools.
I ended up using my 2 foot long torque wrench & a socket to get the bolt to loosen after removing the tool tray.
Once down I found the spare at only 32.5 psi so it was pumped back up to 60 psi.
I also sprayed the bolt/latch assembly under the car with some anti rust material.
I suggest doing the same exercise on your Micra.

wise advice, I found the same problem about a year ago, its under the car so i cant see what Nissan can do any better but lubrication is the key, even the spare rim had alot of rust and crud on it
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

How cheap of Nissan Canada to have left the spare tire exposed to the elements like that, they could of just re-used the existing Asia market rear floors that have the spare wheel sitting inside it's own cavity. Shame.

I'm thinking out loud as i haven't tried yet...but i'm guessing the wheel would fit in the trunk if you removed the huge foam holder...then just spread the tools and jack around the wheel...
Something i'll have to try in the coming weeks..

My March (Mexico) has the spare in the trunk area. The only salt we see here in the Margaritas...
