New 2018 Micra owner in BC

May 7, 2018, I became the owner of a 2018 Micra, new off the car lot. Had a ultima previously, but it was a 06, and started getting a little quirky.
Thought with gas prices I would look for something smaller. Came across a website from England showing the Micra. I was amazed at the leg room and head room. Went to the new Nissan dealer in Penticton the next day, and was again amazed at the room in the car. I am 6'-2" and a big guy, but the leg room is wonderful, and I do not feel cramped or closed in. The seat actual sits higher then the ultima, so easy to get in and out of.
It is the basic car, manual transmission, no a/c, wind down windows, no fancy key locks. Just what I was looking for. All the new toys in most new cars are only going to fail at some time, and I wanted something simpler.
Gas mileage is great, and it has lots of pep.

Welcome, traintyme, and congrats on your Micra!

A lot of members here have picked the base Micra S, like you.

And you're right - there's a surprising amount of headroom in the car.

How long did you keep your Altima? Same plan for the Micra?

I bought the Altima in 2016, from a used car lot in New Westminster. It was a good car, and ran well, just had to have the power steering cooler replaced and another small coolant leak repaired. I had bought it to replace the 04 Pt Cruiser, which at trade in had 306,000 km on it.

The Micra being bought new off the lot, I intend to keep it quite awhile. I am 63 and do not drive as much as years past, so this great little car should last me quite awhile.

I recommend a trip to the auto wrecker and grab the sun visor from an sv or sr. They have a slider on them, unlike the ones on the s
