    Wiki says...

    Brazilian: 1,109 kg-1,136 kg (2.444 lb-2504 lb)
    Chinese: 1,122 kg-1,164 kg (2.473 lb-2566 lb)
Ours will probably weigh a little more than these models (probably will come with more airbags and crash structure).

    UPDATE July 11: Nissan Canada says Kicks S = 1,197 kg (2639 lbs), SV = 1,204 (2654)

Considering the heaviest Micra is 2407 lbs / 1092 kg, the power:weight ratio of the Kicks may actually be a little better:

-- Kicks has 15% more power than SR Micra automatic
-- Kicks SV weighs 10% more than SR Micra auto.

But it comes with the rubber band transmission only, so it will feel slower and the engine drone will drive you nuts when you step on it.

I took a look under the hood of the only Kicks on the lot here the other day when I was at the dealer.

The intake manifold is much different, even from the other Kicks engine bay pictures online. It doesn't wrap around the valve cover. Throttle body *may* be different but I didn't get a good enough look/comparison and the intake is larger, it actually goes over the radiator exactly where my custom intake does.

Your pics make it look like it's missing a plastic engine cover to hide all the spaghetti.

spacewolf here on the forums and I have made some threads already about the Kicks. His theory after looking at some on the dealer lot is that it gets that increase from it's larger throttle body, intake, and the CVT/possibly the tune associated with that CVT. Who knows if it actually has this much of an increase on the dyno, or if they are just allowed to market that horsepower based on tricks in the current testing standards.

I think that with more weight, the engine is going to have to work harder and going to be louder. I'm sure that people will buy it if the gas mileage is good and they don't have to go to a bigger vehicle. Is it going to be cheap like the Micra(price) I highly doubt it. Oh no manual, that sucks!
Starting at $17,998 for the S trim. SV is where all the goodies like heated seats, Apple/Android, alloy rims, and intelligence features come in at $20,898.

curb weight & fuel economy vs. Micra

Update with curb weight & fuel economy...

    CURB WEIGHT: Nissan Canada's site says Kicks S = 1,197 kg (2639 lbs), SV = 1,204 (2654)

Considering the heaviest Micra is 2407 lbs / 1092 kg, the power:weight ratio of the Kicks is a little better:

-- Kicks has 15% more power than SR Micra automatic
-- Kicks SV weighs 10% more than SR Micra auto.

    Kicks FUEL ECONOMY:

    • 7.7 city / 6.6 highway

    Vs. Micra:

    • 8.7 / 6.8 (manual transmission)
    • 8.9 / 6.8 (automatic)

So the Kicks on paper is more fuel efficient than the Micra? This can't be real.

The Kicks has a CVT. I'm not very surprised it rates better than the Micra's slushbox 4-speed.

Manual Micra drivers will still be able to beat the Kicks though, because the manual's fuel economy rating is easy to beat by a wide margin with simple eco-driving methods.
