Anyone running 17 rims and tires??

Hi I just picked up at set of 17 used rims for a great price. I'm not sure what's the biggest size I can run without doing a little trial and error lol. I'm hoping some of you guys are running 17's and know the answer. I've already read through all the tire post and haven't seen anyone say they're running 17's or the size if they are. I'm looking at running 205/50R17 or 215/50R17. If I need to drop the sidewall down to a 45 or 40. I will but I'd prefer not to if possible. My car has stock suspension. Thanks in advance to any replies.

:P I've said in several places I have 17x8.5's (+15) on mine, running 205/40R17 - it's as wide as you can go before needing to worry about the fender liner.

    Use this though: http://www.willtheyfit.com/

Punch in what you have, and what you want to go to, it will show you how far in / out everything will be, including effects on the speedometer. (stock is 185/60R15 5.5 wide, +50 offset)

With the amount of room we have in the wheel wells, even lowered it really comes down to rim width, if I had a 7" wide rim I could use a taller tire...

    i run 205/40/16

3 filling fell out of my mouth, but the handling is pretty good.

its not bad, u just have to avoid potholes
I think the wide tires make it "wander" a little.
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna try running 205/45R17. I'm gonna get them mounted and balenced this weekend.

The BMW i-3 runs really narrow tires / wheels. 155/70R19
Unfortunately the rims are 5 bolts.

    Just FYI:

You can do an advanced search in the garage for "17" in the "Wheel and Tire" field:

    http://micra-forum.com/dto_garage_se...hp?do=advanced

Half a dozen Micras come up in the results.

One way to see what wheels people are running (only shows those with pics, doesn't specify what size):

Does running 17's compromise handling? Ride quality?

I had 17's for two years 205/40/17. You get more grip but ride quality is so bad in my opinion. Stay with the factory size, it really works better.
