    Wink I haven't owned a car for 17 years...

I am such a nerd that I have joined this forum and began madly researching NISMO parts, gear ratios, and air filter mods while not even taken delivery on my slightly used Micra yet!

I was going to buy a 2017 VW Golf, but I am a poor photographer in Winnipeg, so, a 2015 Micra SR with 35000km on it was too good to pass by at $13000. (...it even came with four extra rims and winter tires)

What caught my attention about the car was that it was cute but not odd looking like some Kias and Mazdas. ...and it was "affordable" The VW I wanted would have been around $27000.

This new Micra, (which is Blue!) is replacing my 1970's Batavus Dutch bicycle. I have not owned a car since I sold my 12 year old 1989 Suzuki Swift GTi.

We, my girlfriend and I, will be using the Micra for getting sh^t from Home Depot, groceries, lugging around camera gear, and for the one huge road trip, camping across Canada we take each May.

I wish the top of the line SR model had heated seats, but there seems to be a little air vent under there, so we will see how it warms my cockles at Xmas time. Back up camera, Bluetooth, AC, and Cruise Control! Awesome.

We are very familiar with Jettas and Golf's, as we have driven them from Winnipeg to Toronto and Winnipeg to Victoria BC, many times; like three times, each. I like how VW's have a pleasing Whunk when you close the door, and how the fit and finish is just a little nicer. But when we took the 2015 K13 out for a spin, we actually grinned inside it as we bopped down the highway. And then when trying a You-Eee the Micra made me giggle with it's comically tight turning circle. This one factor, might be the cherry on the cake! It's a go kart!

More news after we actually get the darn thing; hopefully tomorrow night, Nov 22 2016.

Is the blue colour rare in Micras? It is quite nice...
I just about bought a Red SV.
Bags of concrete; yes. Sheets of plywood; no. I have a friend with a Ford truck for that.
I tried to get them down from $12900 but they only gave me a few more oil changes. Ha!
We did a road trip long ago in a Toyota Yaris hatch, and it was a bit tight, but we managed with all the sleeping bags and a little tent.
Winnipeg is quite lovely, its own way. From extreme to extreme...

Nice price especially with the tires & rims. Looks like my Micra SR. The color looks the same too; Caspian Sea. The color of your car is an extra cost option & when they first came out, a 6 to 8 week wait to get it. They do have a real blue color too though. Those little vents under the seat are supposed to put air/heat on the feet of your passengers. I don't know if they do or not because I'm the only one in it 99.99% of the time. Yes, you can make a pretty tight U-turn with it.

I am planning to take lots of photos of the car and "review" it in a comical way, down to the sound and note of the horn.
I will stick a thermometer in the Butt Vent and see what its doing, and judge the resolution of the rear cam.

I thought Caspian Sea was more Teal, or blue green. I will check the body labels on it when it actually arrives, hopefully tonight!

Does anyone know if the S, SV, SR stands for something?

Standard. Standard Very. and Standard Really?
How about; Sweet, Sweeter Version and Supreme Racing?

Update! We just picked up the car.

We only got the winter tyres, without rims. They were in bags in the back seat and I just "assumed" there were rims in there too.
    Nope.
But still; eight tyres on the car!

I love the thing already. It zips around corners so nimbly I can easily do illegal lane changes around SUVs. Wee!

    Welcome, Leif!

Looking forward to your take on your SR.

I had a Swift GT same vintage as yours -- just got rid of it this summer.

Oh man. That's wild to see the little Suzuki strung up and smashed like that!
Some reviews of the SR coming soon.
