Nissan seems to do it later than other companies. So far, only the 2018 Leaf is listed as a new model on their PR site.

The 2017 model of the Micra showed up on their web site in January of 2017. The 2016 brochures were available at dealers in Nov/Dec of 2015.

    That makes sense, thank you!

Spark stats have been updated for July & August, and oddly, it seems to have made up for the stop-sale they had in May/June. They sold 351 in Jul, and August was its best ever month, at 597 sold. Who'da thunk?
That's interesting to hear, I bought the last one on the lot around then and they didn't get any more for a couple of weeks but now the lot has half a dozen that haven't sold.

However, there's quite a few Micras here considering the population (1-3 sold per month since launch were the figures I was quoted). Whitehorse is a bit of an anomaly overall. There's a crazy amount of Elements and Ridgelines despite how low their sales figures were across North America. Only about 15k and 35k sold in Canada respectively and there's at least 100 of each here with a population of only about 22k.

Interesting how an individual city can have a unique vehicle mix, a lot different than the average.

I wonder what weird patterns there are in some other cities.

It's pretty neat to see and semi-analyze. Despite the climate we have a lot of Prius/Prius Cs and tonnes of hippy beater vans and lifted Delicas too lol.

    October deliveries

Another record month for Nissan Canada...

(It's almost unsurprising at this point!)

Today, Nissan Group announced total Canadian sales of 11,577 units for October 2017, an increase of 9.4 per cent and a best October ever. The Nissan Division also set an October sales record with 10,493 units sold, an increase of 13.1 per cent.
    http://nissannews.com/en-CA/nissan/c...canadian-sales

730 Micras were delivered, up a little bit from October 2016.

Interestingly, Spark sales have rebounded sharply since the stop-sale order in May. September was strong, and October was its best ever month, at 685 sold.

Of course (as usual) we have no idea how many of these sales (from any manufacturer) are "bulk" fleet sales, vs. sales to individuals.

    November

Another record month for the company overall...

Today, Nissan Group announced total Canadian sales of 11,391 units for November 2017, an increase of 6.7 per cent and a best November ever. The Nissan Division also set a November sales record with 10,309 units sold, an increase of 8.0 per cent.
But the Micra took a tumble... Only 472 were sold. That's the lowest November figure so far.

I wonder if there really was a "no test drives" rule on 2017's which affected sales, as mentioned here.

    December & year end tally

    DOH!

Only 394 Micras sold last month. 2nd lowest full month since the car went on sale (previous lowest was back in Feb).

But the company overall had a great month:

Nissan Group Reports Record December and 2017 Calendar Year Canadian Sales

MISSISSAUGA, ONT. – Nissan announced today the Nissan Group set an all-time annual sales record with 146,677 total Canadian sales in 2017 - an increase of 9.3 per cent over 2016. This marks five years of consecutive annual sales growth for the Nissan Group in Canada. For December 2017, Nissan reported total Canadian sales of 9,385 units, an increase of 9.3 per cent.

    Thank the SUV's & CUV's!

    January sales

The pattern repeats: record-setting sales for the company as a whole, but Micra sales aren't so hot...

Mississauga, Ont. – Today, Nissan Group announced total Canadian sales of 8,836 units for January 2018, an increase of 6.3 per cent and a best January ever.
    From: http://nissannews.com/en-CA/nissan/c...canadian-sales

370 Micras found owners last month, the 2nd lowest month since launch (though Jan/Feb are typically very slow months.)

The trend continues for sliding car sales in general (vs. increasing CUV/SUV sales): year over year declines for Versa, Altima, Maxima, 370Z & GTR for January.

Interestingly, the Sentra bucked the trend with a 12% increase.
