Thread: Nissan Micra Canadian sales figures, 2014-2020 (vs. Spark & Mirage)

  1. #91
I think if you avg sept vs oct micra sales it still avgs out. Plus with the agressive ads and sales in sept and back to school i wouldnt be surprised if thats the reason for sept peak and oct lull.

Also, i put a deposit in april but paid in full and picked up the car in may. My car is considered a april sale. So that could also skew things.

Plus Micra continues kicking butt over the Spark & Mirage. I updated the table in the first post.

Lower gas prices definitely don't help small car sales.

    November

Another record-breaker for the company, overall, but only so-so for the Micra with 877 sales (below this year's monthly average).

Still kicking the competition's butt, though!

MISSISSAUGA, ONT. – Nissan Group today announced monthly Canadian sales of 9,452 units, an increase of eight per cent over last year and the best November in the company’s history. This sales achievement marks 28 consecutive months of record sales for the Nissan Group in Canada.
Nissan brand sales increased 7.3 per cent with 8,476 units sold, setting a new November sales record. Calendar year-to-date, Nissan sales are up 12.5 per cent.

Even with the low gas prices, I'm loving my Micra.

So responsive and fun, especially in the corners!

    So easy to park!

Leaves a ton of room in my garage, so it's 100% functional even with my car parked in it!

Best of all, it's a blast to drive! I barely spend $30 to fill it up, yet can enjoy some spirited, wide open throttle driving for days before the next fill-up!

Wait, I lied. That was second best. The best thing is it has plenty of room for me and my gear for work, and for me and my family when it's time for a road trip, while still delivering plenty of power to hold its own. Absolutely love dropping to 4th (sometimes 3rd) and walking away from pickup trucks trying to intimidate me on the highway.

In our culture obsessed with absurd excess, the Nissan Micra is my counterculture car of choice.

    Dec. Micra sales & 2015 round-up

747 Micras last month. That's a low number compared to other months, but appears to be consistent with sales of other subcompacts this year.

Total Micra sales: 11,909 Micras in 2015 and 19,724 overall including 2014 (partial year).

Nissan overall: 2015 was a great year in Canada for the company:

Nissan today announced total Canadian sales for December of 9,476 units, an increase of 16.5 per cent and a December record, marking 29 months of consecutive sales growth. For calendar year 2015, the Nissan Group set an all-time record with 129,976 total Canadian sales, an increase of 12.6 per cent over 2014.

WOW. Micra is in 2nd place!

We already knew that subcompact car sales were cratering this year. But those numbers paint a harsh picture for almost every model ... except for Micra, Mini and Prius C.

So with 4% being manual does that mean only 789 manuals? 19,724 x 0.04

seems like it. People are lazy these days. They want all the buttons they can possibly have. But move a lever and push a pedal 4". PSSSH....

But its not just the car market. Even heavy trucks like tractor trailers, dump trucks, etc.. They are making the move to automatics now that the reliability is on par with the manual counterparts, and the fuel efficiency is negligble...

I'd bet that manuals make up much more than 4% of Micra sales.

    January

Cumulative Micra sales passed the 20,000 mark last month.

And Nissan Canada had another record month:

Nissan Group today announced monthly Canadian sales of 8,404 units, an increase of 18.0 per cent over last year and the best January in the company's history. This sales achievement marks 30 consecutive months of record sales for the Nissan Group in Canada.
    From: http://nissannews.com/en-CA/nissan/c...canadian-sales

Most of the growth was through SUV's & crossovers.

Micra didn't do so well last month: 645 sold. That's its lowest (full) month since launch. Though January was slow last year as well, and this Jan was also very slow for Mirage (its 2nd lowest month). Chevy sold 70 Sparks.
