Want to buy a Micra, is it loud @ 120km/h?

HI, been testing out the smaller cars in Ottawa, I find the mazda2 sounds like its going to explode when I got it up to 120km on the queensway. How do you people find the road noise at high speed? I am thinking of purchasing a manual transmission.

I found the chevy spark very quiet, hows the micra?

I find it reasonable and unlike some cars in this size class, it is quite willing to cruise at that speed.

I haven't tried the Mazda 2 to compare, so I would you suggest you try a Micra and see for yourself.

I thought the Mazda 2 was discontinued?

Several reviews (from "professional" reviewers and from members here who have driven the Spark) have said it's a quieter car. But they also point out the Micra is more eager and engaging to drive as Grok mentioned.

Let us know what you think when you try one.

I never got the Spark up to 120 km/h so I can't speak to wind and other noise at that speed.

Just got back from the dealership. I tried the 2016 Micra SV 5spd. Compared to the spark, its much noisier at 120km/h. I put both in cruise control at that speed and there is a noticeable difference.

The SV and the Spark 1LT are only a few hundred dollars apart but there is no comparison, sadly.

The SV doesn't have a backup cam, blue tooth audio(just speaking) and no android auto.

The HP difference in minor, but the Spark is also a little over 100lbs lighter, so i actually didn't even notice a difference.

Hate to say it, going with the spark.

My 5 speed Micra doesn't really get too noisy until 120 MPH, but don't worry, I don't believe the Spark can go that fast...

In our culture obsessed with absurd excess, the Nissan Micra is my counterculture car of choice.

The noise at 120 was a positive for me. Quiet when I'm cruising, but when I put the pedal down I want to hear it. I could even stand it a little bit louder. I mean has anyone ever said I like that Ferrari but that engine noise is a deal breaker. If that's the case maybe you are better off in something a little less sporty.
