Thanks Wynter, I had a sour feeling when i was basically told to shut up because I paid for the cheapest car in the entire market... The true fact is, with the 20k i spent, i have lots more choice in the used cars market and some of them are reputable brands with good records.

For the same price, If I have the choice to get a used car that can last 10 more years, or a new Micra that will break down after 5 years. i think the choice is easy to make.

For what it's worth, I have heard gas sloshing in the tanks of several of my cars. I didn't consider it unusual.

Sometimes what sounds like Petrol ( you lot say it wrong by the way lol) sloshing about can be water inside the doors. Not common on newer cars but since our windows don't seal on the outside very well this is one to watch for. Bottom of the door usually where the skin meets the frame on the lowest point there are normally little drain holes that block up door gets full of water.

I was joking with the wife when she was bugging me about how I bought a small car, "Hey I was thinking of the family, I could have bought a used Porsche for the same money".

You should have stuck with the base model 11500 out the door 95000 trouble free klicks on the whole. It handles and has never gone out of alignment. I get up steep hill in fifth yes a standard that is the only kind of tranny for asub compact i constantly get 5.6 per 100 klicks the ride I live on some bumpy dirty old side roads. I love my Micra it loves me
